Puck Recruiter Evaluators are certified to use the proprietary Puck Recruiter Evaluation Matrix which was developed with NHL-level player and goalie coaches. The evaluation uses a scoring range from 1-5 with ½-point increments in between. A “one” being the lowest skill level and a “five” being a top-level score for that skill.
Each category covers the skills and aptitude necessary to cover a player’s full range of physical and mental skills needed to perform well in their position. Evaluations are available for both players and goalies.
Video uploads (in the app) are limited to 7-10 minutes maximum. We strongly recommend you only upload an edited compilation video of your game play and practices that focus on you and show your current level of play. Your selected video should show you as clearly as possible and from angles that show off your game skills; from skating, shooting and engaging other players and teammates on the ice. Goalies should feature the approach of players and the defensive moves and saves made during play, as well as some of their warm-up practices.
We suggest utilizing video editing software, such as CapCut (free in the app store) to edit your multiple video clips into one cohesive video to upload. You may only upload 1 video for evaluation purposes. See our tutorial on creating compilation videos and uploading them to Puck Recruiter here.
When editing videos, keep these areas of skill in mind and try to include some video that covers these areas of interest / evaluation. (See list of skills being evaluated below).
When you submit an order for a Puck Recruiter Video Evaluation, the next available evaluator in our que will be assigned to your order. You will then receive an email from them with a link to their booking calendar. You then choose a date and time that is convenient for you. Once you request a booking time, you will receive a confirmation email with the video link. NOTE: in order to avoid being charged for your session, 24 hours prior notice is required to change or cancel the appointment date if needed, from a link in your confirmation email.
Get Honest Feedback!
Certified Puck Recruiter Evaluators examine your uploaded video and review and score the following skill and knowledge areas. Since all players and goalies are rated on the same scoring matrix, you get honest feedback on where your skill level is at compared to others who've undergone the same evaluation.
Coming Soon!
As more players, coaches, scouts and team discover Puck Recruiter, your profile will be marked as having been evaluated. Scouts will be able to view all profiles that have evaluations to look for new talent and find out more about the player's current skill level.
Future features will allow you to privately share your evaluation report directly with scouts or coaches of interest to you.
